Club Founder
Dominic Foster, Sensei, 7th Dan in Aikido and 7th Dan in Aikijo, started practising Traditional Aikido in September 1980 at Wolverhampton Polytechnic (now the University of Wolverhampton) under Sensei Don Williams and Sensei Mick Bell.
Dominic Foster, Sensei then migrated over to the Aikido Fellowship Headquarters under Shihan Ralph Reynolds.
Dominic Foster, Sensei is a fully qualified Senior Instructor in the Aikido Fellowship of Great Britain and is a BAB qualified Senior Coach (Coach Level 3).
He founded Fleet Aikido Club in September 1986 and founded Maida Aikido, Aldershot in 2020. Currently, Maida Aikido Club constitutes the southern most club within the Aikido Fellowship of Great Britain.
Following the sad demise of Shihan Ralph Reynolds in 2006, Dominic Foster, Sensei has remained a staunch supporter of the Aikido Fellowship.
He was promoted to the grade of 7th Dan in March 2013.
Dominic Foster became the Head of the Aikido Fellowship of Great Britain in March 2023, and leads the Aikido Fellowship’s governing body or Yudanshakai.
